Want to make the most of your weekend trip to Maastricht and see and do as much as possible? Or just take it easy and see what the day brings? Everything is possible in South Limburg. Below we give you our tips for a wonderful weekend in Maastricht:
1️⃣ Het Vrijthof - This well-known city square is not to be missed during a weekend in Maastricht. Find a spot on one of the many terraces located on the square, where no fewer than 38 national monuments are located. This square is also the stage for many cultural events.
2️⃣ Sint Servaasbrug - Officially the oldest bridge in the Netherlands and one of the most characteristic structures in Maastricht. Combine a walk along the Maas with the bridge and enjoy an amazing view over the water and the city.
3️⃣ Sint Pietersberg - This hill is located on the edge of town with numerous footpaths winding through the area. For the more active ones there is a unique mountain bike route to follow. Keep an eye out for an eagle-owl flying by at the lookout point over the quarry!
