Hours of hiking fun

The rural village of Bemelen, located in the middle of the South Limburg hill area, has two main roads and a number of dead-end streets. An authentic southern village that is best known for De Bemelerberg nature reserve. Together with Schiepersberg and Julianagroeve, these reserves offer nearly 500 acres of beautiful, flowery grasslands, limestone hills, and woodlands.

Bemelen belongs to the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten, which won an award in 2015 for being the best municipality for hiking. Free routes can be found in the South Limburg Hiking Guide.
